I work in a store that sells both beer and cigarettes. Since there is an age requirement we need to check IDs. Everybody is familiar with being carded I'm sure. Or at least you'd think so.
Our policy is to ask for ID if the person looks to be 30 or under as a precaution for people who look older than they are. I am such a bad judge of age sometimes though! I once carded a 45 year old woman for beer. Man was she ecstatic!
So if you're going out to get smokes or some brew-skis, bring your ID!! Pretty simple. Especially if you are in the 18-30 range.
Because, I'm sorry but "I'm 22, I swear!" Just doesn't cut for me! lol
Not worth the fine, losing my liquor license and possibly losing my job because you forgot your ID.

I just stopped in to say Thank You for stopping by for the BATW tour the other day. I really enjoyed having so many visitors.
SOmeone I worked with years ago in a supermarket got fired for selling beer to someone without checking their ID. I love it when someone checks my ID, makes me feel good :D
I'm 29, I swear! I hardly ever get carded...but hubby who is 7 years old than me, gets carded more. Why is that, do you think??
Thanks for dropping by on Monday. Some people just don't mind be carded at all. Others freak out. They're upset because you can't tell that they're OLD. Oh well.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
I used to work at Walmart, and I had a guy come through one time trying to buy beer (it was a college town). When I went to check his ID, he mumbled something, and the girl he was with handed me her ID. It was very clear that she was buying it for him, which is of course, a no no. They were SO bummed...but I guess they thought they'd get away with it because it was the self-checkout??
Thanks for stopping by my place yesterday on my SITS day!
