Wish me luck

I entered two photos in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Snapshot Contest this past week. All entries so far can be seen here. So far only the first one I entered is up on the site. It's #510 (out of 914 so far), just click on the range that includes that number and it's in the upper left corner. If you hover your mouse over the pics it will show the entry number.

All photos had to have been taken during 2006. I had a hard time deciding what to enter. Not because I had so many to choose from, but because I wasn't sure if I had any good enough! Check out the winners from last year: 2006 winners

This year's winners will be decided in July and then displayed at the Wisconsin State Fair in August. I'm not expecting to win but I'll keep ya posted! I also hope to enter some more contests and submit for different things so if you happen to know of any "legit" contests, please send them my way!

Happy Period??

Have a happy period?? Are you kidding me? I'm sure many of you have seen the ads for Always maxi pads with their slogan "Have a happy period". What a joke. Obviously a man came up with that one!!

Like using their brand is going to make all the difference in the world. No headaches, no bloating, no irritability, no cramps or backaches. I'm sure I speak for most women out there when I say that I am anything but happy while on the rag!!

School's out for summer

This was in the paper last week sometime. My husband cut it out and hung it on the fridge. This is exactly what happens at my house every year!

Polish Fest

Went down to the 26th annual Polish Fest at the lakefront today. Yup, I'm older than the festival. Didn't stay too long, just wanted to do something different and hadn't been there in a long time.

Walked around, checked out the lake, rode the skyglider and of course had some polish food. It was edible but not nearly as good as what I was used to. I miss my grandma's cooking.......she made the best golabki (stuffed cabbage) and pierogi and she wasn't even polish herself! We got the name of a polish deli from a co-worker, I'll have to check that one out and see if I like it.

Maybe my uncle that I'm going to visit next month (if he's reading this) will make a big batch for everyone who is coming out! hint! hint!

Here we go!

Let's get this first post out of the way, shall we?

Those of you who know me are probably thinking....."What the......why is she starting a blog?"
I don't know, I've been thinking about it for a while now. Maybe I'll like it, maybe I won't. I have one on myspace, but wanted something different so here I am.

With millions of other blogs out there to read, what makes mine so special? Good question!! Maybe nothing, I guess we'll see. I hope to just try to keep in touch with family and friends, maybe make some new ones, let off some steam, share some photos and have some fun.

So sit back and enjoy. Let's see what happens!
Oh, and bear with my work in progress :)
