Yay! We woke up to sun today! Hopefully it sticks around a while, though we have more thunderstorms predicted for this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow. Gosh, if we get too much more rain around here WI will be swallowed up by Lake Michigan pretty soon!
Like I mentioned last week, I moved my Photohunt over to my photoblog, so have a look!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays safe in all this weird weather we've been having lately around the country!

Photo Hunt: Bad Hair

Or should I say bad fur? This was taken last year at the zoo. I always think of polar bears being pretty white animals. These didn't look so white, lots of green in their fur. I'm guessing from the algae in the water.
I think next week I'll be moving my photohunt over to my photoblog. When I started doing this I wasn't sure if I was going to keep up the photoblog, but I've decided to keep it going.

Photo Hunt: Self
Me and My Shadow

I wanted to go for something a little different since I normally don't like photos of myself. Who does?! So this is what I came up with. Any of the neighbors who saw me out it the yard must have thought I'd lost it. Sitting on the patio randomly taking photos from above my head, then running inside to check them out on my LCD because it was too bright to see them clearly outside. If you want to see a real photo of me there is one of me and hubby a couple posts down.

Photo Hunt: Shoes
"Mom, why are bowling shoes so ugly?"

I'm back. I missed the last 3 photohunts for one reason or another. I'm heading out for the weekend but wanted to get this in before we left so I don't miss any more! I will be taking my laptop, so as long as I can get internet tonight, I'll be back to visit other sites and comment.
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!!

PhotoHunt: Thirteen (13)
Running a little behind on my photohunt post today. I had a hard time finding something to photograph that fit the theme. But I remembered an old photo I had so I decided to go retro today and embarrass myself in the process with a pic of me on my 13th birthday.

This is me with one of my favorite birthday gifts of all time...Rick Springfield's "Working Class Dog" album and an "I *heart* General Hospital" mug. I had some rough times around that age and Rick's music is what kept me going. I wore this album out!
And no, my kids did not get a hold of the pic and scribble on it. Twenty years later on my 33rd birthday, I was lucky enough to get the photo signed by Rick himself!
Hubby & I and another couple went to an out of town show he did on the night before my bday. We made a weekend out of it and booked a hotel for the night. It ended up being the same hotel Rick and the band were at. So the next morning as they were heading out to catch their flight hubby *made* me ask if Rick would sign it. It took all the courage I had and if hubby wasn't there to encourage me I probably wouldn't have done it and would have been kicking myself in the a** for the rest of my life!
I was actually able to tell Rick the story of the photo and he wished me a Happy Birthday. I think I floated home that day.

Photo Hunt: Glass

But....... being the procrastinator that I am, I waited until the last minute to try taking some photos. I'm not real happy with how they turned out. This is the best of what I got but it's not the original.
I'm on my laptop right now and haven't taken the time to install my new Photoshop Elements on it. So I went to a site called picnik.com and found a "1960s" setting that I applied to it. I thought that was kind of fitting because of the age of the bottles. I like it better but still wish I would have maybe had something to fill them with so you can read the writing better and not see the writing on the opposite side show through.
Live and learn, I guess!
